We didn't set out to learn about Apple Nerds; we were asked to film a workshop for the Heritage Apple Corps on restoring heritage apple orchards in Central Oregon, but the people were the story.

We wanted to know what compels them to resurrect ancient fruit trees from overgrown thickets. The variety of answers, including that of an “apple detective,” gave us a taste, or maybe a bite.
